How is the total calculated?
Each work item multiplies its quantity by the material, labour, equipment, transport and other unit rates. Waste increases materials only. Overhead is added to direct costs, then profit, then VAT. Contingency is a separate budget line.
The calculator uses the rates you enter. An automatic verified regional rate database and drawing-based quantity takeoff are not connected yet.
